The Right Way to Clean Quartz Every Day
Daily quartz cleaning is simpler than most people make it: a soft cloth or sponge, warm water, and a small amount of mild dish soap. Wipe, then go over the surface once more with plain water, because leftover soap film is the most common reason a quartz counter starts to look dull or streaky.
For dried-on food, let a warm, soapy cloth sit on the spot for a few minutes instead of scrubbing. Keep a dedicated microfiber cloth for the final wipe — it beats paper towels for lint and polish. And skip anything labeled 'granite and marble cleaner and sealer' combination; quartz never needs sealing, and some stone-cleaning products leave films that defeat quartz's factory polish.
Do
- Wipe with mild dish soap and warm water daily
- Rinse with plain water and buff with microfiber
- Soak stubborn dried food with a warm soapy cloth
Don’t
- Don't let soap residue build up — it looks like dullness
- Don't use scouring pads or abrasive powders
- Don't buy 'sealer' cleaners — quartz never needs sealing
